What is the DTT?
A free self-assessment from LGfL, a not-for-profit education charity, that gives your school a clear, honest picture of where it stands with technology, plus practical guidance on what to do next.
What do we get out of it?
A report showing where you stand today, evidence you can use to support decisions, planning and funding, and a prioritised set of next steps for teaching, learning and support.
Who is it for?
School and trust leaders responsible for technology, though it works best when colleagues across the school each contribute the areas they know best.
How is it structured?
70 questions grouped into 6 sections, each with clear level descriptors so your answers stay consistent and comparable across schools and over time.
How long does it take, and who should complete it?
There's no set time. Work at your own pace, save your progress, and come back whenever suits you. Share sections with the colleagues best placed to answer them so the whole picture is accurate.
Can colleagues help complete it?
Yes. Share an assessment and your colleagues can view, edit and finalise the sections they know best, so the right people answer the right questions.

LGfL Teaching & Learning members, EdTech experts, LGfL's own teams, and senior advisers from multi-academy trusts and local authorities.
How do we get the most from it?
Complete it to set a clear starting point, involve the right colleagues in each section, then re-run it periodically so you can track your progress and let the report guide your decisions.
